20 June 2024
The Wattana Girls’ Chorus had the opportunity to engage in cultural exchange activities with other choral groups participating in the “Mini Secondary School Choral Festival,” which took place on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the Music Hall, Art and Cultural Building, Chulalongkorn University.
During this cultural exchange, the Wattana Girls’ Chorus showcased Thai culture by teaching traditional dance to the song “Loy Krathong” and crafting traditional Thai fish mobiles (Pla Tapian). This created a fun and educational experience for the international choirs, enhancing their understanding of Thai culture.
The concert featured performances by three choral groups:
– Chuladar Choir from the Demonstration School of Chulalongkorn University (Secondary)
– Loma Linda Academy Pro Musica from the United States
– Wattana Girls’ Chorus from Wattana Wittaya Academy
In the evening of the same day, at 7:00 PM, the Wattana Girls’ Chorus performed songs such as Clap Your Hands/Rejoice, Kishu no tono san, a medley of traditional Thai dances, and Sawasdee at the Mini Secondary School Choral Festival.
This performance not only impressed the audience but also promoted relationships and understanding of diverse cultures among the international choirs.
